YEN CAN 2024

YEN CAN 2024,National level conference was organized by the department of Kayachikitsa and Rasashastra exam Bhaishajya kalpana on the theme "An integrative approach to cancer" from 4th to 6th January 2024. Vaidya Jayant Deopujari (Chairman, NCISM)was the chief guest, Dr. BS Prasad ( President, Board of Ayurveda),Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya( Director General, CCRAS) and Dr. Mohammed Iqbal, District AYUSH officer, Dakshina Kannada were the guests of honour. The honourable Vice chancellor of Yenepoya ( Deemed to be University)presided over the function and delivered the key note address, Dr. Gururaja H, Dean Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital delivered the welcome address.Around 500 delegates from all over India registered and participated in the conference. Resource persons from various fields including Modern Medical science, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy etc. spoke elaborately on various aspects of Cancer. Oral paper presentation, Poster presentation, Model making and collage competitions were held for the delegates which included faculty members, Post graduate/ PhD scholars/ Research scholars and Undergraduate students.

CME on “MARMAVALOKANA”

One day CME “MARMAVALOKANA” under the banner of SAMHANANA-2020, was conducted in Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Naringana, on 13th March 2020, by The Department of Shareera Rachana.

First scientific session was by Dr Shubada VI, Professor and HOD of Department of Shareera Rachana, YAMCH, about “The Surgical Perspective of Marma”. In the second session Dr Vidhyaprabha R, Associate Professor, Department of Shareera Rachana, YAMCH, spoke about “A critical Analysis on Snayu Marma”. Dr Navaneeth K P, Assistant Professor Department of Shareera Rachana,YAMCH, Spoke about “ Basic concepts of Marma” in 3rd session. From 11 am to 11.30 am inaugural function was arranged. In 4th and 5th sessions guest speaker Dr Ajayan Sadananandan, Professor and HOD of Department of Dravyaguna , Astanga Ayurveda Medical College. Palakad, Kerala, imparted knowledge about “Principles and Practices of Bandaging techniques in Agastya Marma Shatra” and “Demonstration of Bandaging Techniques in lower limb” respectively. Marma Model on the theme of parinamanusra classification of Marma was inaugurated in this occasion. There was a poster presentation competition for 1st and 2nd year BAMS students.

Teaching Faculty and 1st and 2nd BAMS students of YAMCH, Naringana, have participated in the CME. Programme ended with prize distribution and vote of thanks.

CME on ‘Tridosha Siddhanta’

Afternoon session witnessed another scientific session in the form of CME on ‘Tridosha Siddhanta’ by our Guest Speaker Dr. Krishna Prakash, Practitioner, Professor and Head, Department of Kayachikitsa, KVG Ayurveda College, Sullia.

Dr, Harikrishna, Assistant Professor, Department of Shareera Kriya managed the task of introducing the Guest speaker to the Audience. Dr. Krishna Prakash hails from Puttur and has been Practicing Ayurveda for last 25 years. He explained the importance of application of Fundamental knowledge of Ayurveda in Practice.
